Ebola cases in Liberia are spreading exponentially, with several thousand new cases expected over the next three weeks, according to the World Health Organization.

Conventional methods of controlling the epidemic “are not having sufficient impact”, according to the WHO.

At least 2,100 people have died from the virus in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria this year.

The WHO assures that 79 health workers have died of the disease.
