Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy chafes at reporter after bowl loss: ‘Don’t be a–‘
Oklahoma State Football Coach Mike Gundy chafed with a reporter following a 24-17 loss to Wisconsin in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Tuesday night after being asked about potential offseason coaching changes.
The state of Oklahoma completed a tumultuous season with their third straight loss to finish the year with a 7-6 record, prompting a reporter to ask about Gundy’s offseason plans.

“Do you think I would tell you if I was making personnel changes?” Gundy responded, apparently deflecting the question.

The reporter replied “no”, but was interrupted by the frustrated head coach: “Then why would you ask?”
When the reporter said it was his “job” to ask, Gundy moved on.
“Okay, well, I might have to cut you off. Don’t be a–. Really? That’s people’s lives, man. That’s people’s families. Right? Don’t mess with families.” of people. Let’s do it the right way. Are you with me on this? It’s not fair to people’s families, man.”

Some might say that the coach was taking out his game frustrations on the reporter, but Gundy made a point before the reporter was done denying that idea.
“I’m not mad at the game, I just don’t like ignorance.”

The Cowboys suffered a 17-point deficit for two quarters before slowly falling back late in the fourth quarter, but fell just short against badgers at the end.
“We came here with a bit of a shortened roster and new guys were involved, and we had to find our way,” Gundy said. “The guys practiced hard for three weeks. We had a great week of practice here, so I was proud of them.”
